The Dockery's Our Mission: We realize that you could go to any one of numerous jewelers for your important jewelry purchases and repairs and we thank you for choosing and entrusting us with your family heirlooms and jewelry decisions. Our first and foremost goal has not changed for 50 years and through three owners: We want to make you a friend and customer! It's our belief that if we treat you with the friendship and respect that you deserve, then all the sales will take care of themselves. We want what is best for you and your needs no matter how large or small the sale may be. We promise to stand behind any piece of jewelry we sell with the utmost truthfulness, sincerity and candor. Your diamond is forever... and so is our commitment to you! Our History: Hi, I'm Bruce Dockery, the owner of Laverne & Janet's Jewelry. I've been the owner here since 1994. Before that, I was the jeweler for this store and I've been involved in this store since 1982. This jewelry store has been in existence since the mid 1950's. It was originally located on the town square of Cookeville TN and was originally Stamps Jewelry. In October of 2008 the we relocated the store to the beautiful brand new facility we have now on West Jackson. The original owner was Clarence Stamps and he operated it from then until 1979 when he sold the business to Laverne Otto and Janet Masters. (That's where the name came from) Laverne passed away in 1986 and Janet remained as the sole owner until I bought the business in 1994. I decided that the name of the store should remain the same because of its' good standing in our community. My family has also been involved in the store all through the years. My father was the watchmaker from 1969-1974 and my mother has been a salesperson here since 1973. It has been my privilege to serve here under Laverne & Janet and then also own the store. The greatest part about being here is the opportunity to get to know and be involved in so many peoples lives. I never take for granted the trust that people put in Laverne & Janet's Jewelry and we look forward to serving you in the future. Our Credentials and Expertise: Our Professional Services: We are a full service jeweler. We do all jewelry repair, custom casting and quartz watch repair in house. We have two full time jewelers, Cliff Raeder and Bruce Dockery with 30 years combined experience. Our Community Involvement: We are members of the Cookeville Chamber of Commerce. We are also active members of Washington Ave. Baptist Church. Bruce is a member of the southern gospel quartet "The Glorylanders" and is a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Washington Avenue Baptist Church Testimonials
